Intelligence Programme Design from Scratch
If you’re a security or risk leader looking to build intelligence capability in your business for the first time, this is how we can create something that supports the unique needs of you and your business.
This consists of meetings to build an in-depth understanding of your problem set and what you’re trying to achieve with an intelligence programme. These can be individual sessions with relevant stakeholders, or conducted as a group workshop. Here we aim to gain an understanding of:
Your current security/intelligence set up (including team size, vendor relationships, processes, structure)
Your security priorities (what do you want to be able to achieve as a security organisation)
Your security challenges/concerns (current and potential future ones)
Your business priorities (what is the business looking to achieve in the short and longer term)
Your business challenges (what is going to stop it doing that)
Your current threat profile and what gaps you have in this currently
Any indications of this threat profile changing in the short or mid-term (if known)
Any organisational challenges that might limit the success of an intelligence programme (individual blockers, cost pressures, business culture challenges)
What you’d like your intelligence programme to be able to do (take a look at our guide to different levels of intelligence programmes for inspiration)
Phase One: Needs Assessment
Victoria Intelligence produces a detailed plan to build your intelligence capability. You’ll get a plan that looks a little like this, which will contain different options for your programme build (and associated costs). We will then discuss your desired next steps in a follow up meeting.
Phase Two: Planning
We support you to implement the aspects of the plan that fit your needs. This can include:
Designing your threat process, establishing how threat informs risk and embedding this into the organisation
Hiring intelligence professionals and positioning them correctly for maximum impact (read more about the differences between an in-house versus outsourced intelligence team here)
Identifying the best data sources and vendors for your needs and engaging with them to establish ongoing reporting
Producing analytical reports bespoke to your business priorities and creating templates for ongoing reporting
Writing SOPs and guides for the intelligence programme to use going forward
Phase Three: Building
We will check in with you at a frequency that suits you to ensure you have everything you need for your programme to function successfully. If anything else is needed, or if any aspects aren’t functioning as desired, we’re there to support you.
Phase Four: Reviewing
